At the entrance of the kindergarten, Yueyue tugged at the corner of Chi Cheng's clothes, “You didn't go out on National Day, did you ChengCheng?"

Chi Cheng shook his head and replied, "I went to play, but I'm already back."

Yueyue tilted her head, “Since you're back, will you come to my house?”

Chi Cheng shook his head again, “I can't today, I have an appointment with a very important person."

Yueyue was unhappy when she heard it. She pouted her mouth and ignore him.

Chi Cheng, “Yueyue, I'm going home first."

Yueyue still ignored him. This made Chi Cheng feel helpless, then he walked toward Mother Chi and said melancholy, “Grandma, guess what the teacher asked me to play.”

"Prince? Knight?”

"No—" Chi Cheng dragged his voice for a long time. With a low sound, he said, "The teacher asked me to play a tree. A tree that does not speak.”

Mother Chi was slightly surprised, but said calmly, "Why are you playing a tree?”

"I don't know either.” Chi Cheng said, “If I knew earlier, it would have been better to play with my mom at home."

Mother Chi took his hand and shook it, “It doesn't matter Chengcheng, every role is very important and needs to be taken seriously.”

Chi Cheng pursed his mouth, “Really? But there’s nothing fun just standing there. Let’s stop talking about that grandma, is dad back?”

"Did your dad say he wants to come back?”

"Dad said he will come to see me in the afternoon.”

"It's still noon, little fool.”

"Okay."

Chi Cheng was in a low mood and didn't speak much. He was silent all the way, until going upstairs, Chi Cheng said to his grandma, "Don't tell mom first.”

"Why?”

"Mom will be unhappy."

Mother Chi stopped and rubbed his head, “How could that be?”

"Anyway, please don't talk about it.” Chi Cheng slowly kissed Mother Chi's face, “Thank you, grandma."

Mother Chi knew what Chi Cheng was thinking and instead of comforting him, she just followed his request and said, "Okay."

The lunch was plentiful, but Chi Cheng was absent-minded.  Chi Ying was surprised and asked, “Cheng Cheng, what 's wrong?”

Chi Cheng held his head in one hand and scooped the food into his mouth with one hand, “I miss Dad."

Chi Ying was silent, Isn't your mother in front of you?

Chi Ying and Chi's mother looked at each other. Mother Chi had an indescribable look in her eyes. Unable to ask why, Chi Ying let Chi Cheng miss his father and then sent a WeChat message to Lu Jingyan, “Cheng Cheng said he misses you."

However, Lu Jingyan didn't reply right away. After lunch was over, Chi Ying picked up the tableware and received a call from Lu Jingyan. His voice sounded magnetic, “Go downstairs."

The phone’s volume wasn’t low and Mother Chi heard it too. She secretly praised the sound of the voice. After hesitating for a while, she planned to quietly follow him out later.

Lu Jingyan's phone call came unexpectedly. After he hung up, Chi Ying was holding the bowl with one hand and still wearing home clothes.

Lu Jingyan's status as president always gave Chi Ying the illusion that "wasting a minute is a waste of hundreds of millions”.   After taking a break in the kitchen, she washed her hands and headed back to the living room. As soon as she walked out of the glass door of the kitchen, she saw Mother Chi. She was standing on the balcony connected to the dining room, looking at the begonias that had just bloomed in the courtyard. Her eyebrows were soft and she seemed to be in a good mood.

Chi Ying said with a soft voice, "Mom, Chi Cheng's dad is here. I'll take Cheng Cheng out. I don't know if we’ll be back for dinner."

Mother Chi turned around and raised her eyebrows, "Why not let him come in and take a sit?"

Chi Ying was stunned for a moment, “It hasn’t been long since we talked about him. Isn't it a little soon for him to see the parents ?"

Mother Chi sounded serious, "Your situation is different. I am not meeting my son-in-law, but my little grandson's father."

Chi Ying promised, "Then I'll go back and ask him.”

Mother Chi hummed lightly.

Chi Ying walked to the living room and saw Chi Cheng huddled watching TV. The animal world was broadcast every lunchtime. It was the first time Chi Ying saw someone watching TV so seriously. Her son was frowning slightly with an expressionless face.

Her hands were wet and a bit cold after washing so Chi Ying didn't pinch Chi Cheng's face to tease him. She just raised her hand and waved it in front of him and said with a smile, "Your father is here.”

Chi Cheng's depressed spirit vanished. He raised his head and finally had an expression on his face, "Huh?"

Chi Ying smiled, "Dad is waiting for you downstairs.”

Hearing this, Chi Cheng ran to the TV to turn it off.  He smiled, opened his mouth deliberately, and said sweetly, "Let's go, Mom.”

Chi Ying thought that Chi Cheng would stick around for a while to watch the show, but she didn't expect him to turn off the TV much faster than she imagined.

As expected, the bond between father and son was strong. Chi Ying felt that she had fallen out of favor. She frowned, "... Wait for mom to change clothes.”

Chi Cheng nodded, "Okay.” Then he ran back to the small bench and sat upright.

Chi Ying changed into a dress in about two minutes. She put on a light makeup which revealed her temperament at once. This was probably the quickest travel preparation she has done in her lifetime.

Chi Cheng skillfully put on a mask for himself, then walked to take his mother's hand as they went out together.

Not long after, the door of the villa’s living room on the first floor was closed. Mother Chi also went to the bedroom to change into casual clothes and followed them.
